Loosing Weight is a Myth? - What are my options? Recurring Heartburns? - Beware Esophagus Cancer
You work more than 12 hours in a day, do not have the time to eat properly, do not have anyone to cook the right kind of dishes for you? No personal trainer? No dietitian to take care off you? No time to prepare you own food? Are you hogging your food? You do not over eat, still you do not loose weight? Not able to sleep properly? You have a heartburn often?
If you have heartburn often, better catch up with a gastroenterologist, it could be an esophagus cancer.
What are your options to loose weight still have a healthy diet? Here is what is called the best practice:
- Once you wake up, drink a full glass of plain water.
- Before you run for the news paper/e-mail, finish your breakfast by around 7:30 to 8:00AM (you will else skip/delay)
- Have a light breakfast(bread or rotis), with one glass of whole milk.
- By 11:30 have an apple, orange or pears. A whole fruit would be good. (no bananas)
- Drink as light as Butter-Milk(chaas) or just plain water or Lite milk.
- For the lunch, have 3-4 Rotis with sprouts or egg whites. A cup of Fruit/Veg Salad. Drink a lot of water.
- Drink 2.5 to 3 liters of water a day, you need to drain the toxins.
- By around 4 to 5:30PM you should be famished again, have a slice of bread and some salad or sprouts.
- Avoid fried, gravy, oil, butter, cheesy food.
- Drop Pizzas, Burgers, Samosas, and the likes from your diet for good.
- By dinner time, you have to go into a "dozing mode" so just have 1 roti with a good amount of salad, and curd.
- The above said is a low-carbohydrate high protein diet, modified to Indian conditions. Avoid rice, and rice items. You can modify the food with soya chunks, soya flour and vegetables.
Craving is the biggest culprit in dieting. So know your craving, when it bursts, and help yourself. Better have a partner to monitor your chart, so that you are accountable to some one.
Happy shedding of weight! Keep safe, eat healthy, eat a lot of greens, drink water!

Recipe - Pastas In White sauce with Black Olives
- Any type of Pasta (Macaroni would be perfect) - 2 cups
- Olive Oil
- Cooking Oil (Sunflower/Rice Gram any oil that does not have a pungent flavor).
- Fresh Ground Black Pepper - 2/3 T.Spoons
- Milk 2/3 cups.
- Corn Flour
- Salt to taste
- & a few Black Olives

Heat water with 2/3 Table Spoons of Cooking Oil, and salt, in a large pan, bring it to boil, add the macaroni. [Only do so once u see the water boils, else your macaroni will take longer time to cook, and stick to the pan]. Keep stirring so as to avoid sticking for 10 to 12 minutes. The Macaroni should be soft enough for a firm bite. Take care not to under-cook your pasta, you wont like the raw taste either. Remove it form heat, drain the water and set aside.
Prepare the White Sauce:
Heat a wide large pan, with Olive Oil. Once it is hot enough, add corn flour spoon by spoon, while stirring smoothly. Once enough flour is added, stop adding, and only stir for 2 minutes, avoid lumps, immediately add milk, still stirring. Once the Milk starts to boil, add Fresh Ground Black Pepper and salt. This will make the milk to split and get the required sauce like consistency. Add it to the "still hot" Pasta, garnish with Olives and serve.
Additional Tips:
- Do both simultaneously so as to serve the pasta hot.
- Keep Stirring - Avoid Lumps in the Corn Flour.
- Sprinkle Oregano and Red Paprika Flakes to add flavor.
- Cut the Black Olives in Rings.
