Google Reader Goes Offline - Google Gear

Google goes offline with this new feature - "Google Gear" You are required to install the google gear for windows before this facility can be put to use. You can find the "new" feature text on the top of your GReader window, just on the "sign row". Once you click it, you will be prompted to install the Google Gear, which promises to enable offline content of 2000 most recent items. That is wonderful for Laptop users, who want to sync the newest RSS and rush to office, and can read on the way to work(car, metro, bus or on the sub-rail !!). This is a welcome feature unless you are too scared of installing Google Applications notorious to hog the memory(eg., Google Desktop Failure).
