Bad Torrents Will Die Soon?

Another Web2.0 website, this a security website that allows the torrent user to report bad (or) spam torrents. This is purely a user contributed content and the authoring website does not have to do anything with the data

TorrentSpam.com is a free Torrent Spam checking site that allows users to determine if a Torrent is bad or not.

Claims the website, "Free" - man it is a web2.0 user fueled site, and hence needless say, it is free. You are the one making cash outta this, and so bragging it is Free, makes me feel yak.,

When you find some torrent empty, malicious or not the right size it claims, please report it to torrentspam.com, hoping to stop the bad torrents out of the community.

Torrents Will No More Be A Menace - True?

Is it true that Torrents would no longer pose a threat to Copyright Owners and Producers? - Well that is what folks(least Justin) at "FileRights" claim, and have announced an application that would do a nifty job for it's subscribers - for free indeed!

Media Owners (Movie Producers, Music Label Owners and Software Companies) can rest in peace(try Yoga) now, by enrolling and listing their Media with FileRights. FileRights from then on will keep an eye on the "media" with it's Unique Hash ID (Ok if this is the key, guess torrents will change the way they work form now on, may be there will be spoof Hashes?) and if found on participating Torrent Search Engine Companies will remove them.

Man this guy, plays both sides(probably after the suit), Justin of Torrentspy started this application called 'FileRights' .torrent removal system, and now there will be more participants like ISOHunt and Torrentspy. We have to wait and watch how this will turn out to be good for the torrent search engine hits. Will people boycott both these sites, or will torrent makers come up with another method of spoofing " FileRights"? we have to wait and watch!!

System Hangs When Running Windows Live Writer !!

I chucked Microsoft's Windows Live Writer and decided to wait for the next build, of this problem. I have ditched it[after my great review] and forgot about Live Writer as we all intend to do if a certain software deserves such, and there is no exception to Microsoft.

Lately I bumped into their blog because I was tired with the sick interface that Blogger.com offers. it is sick and there is no doubt about it. There are wonderful interface options, and when Google can do wonders to it's "MyGoogle" interface why the blogger interface is let alone - wonder why?

Yes, the system hangs when I run my Live Writer, and there is a reason for it is, it invokes the Microsoft Update in a strange manner like all Windows Application would do, and so the F*&^% Up. Well to resolve this you need to follow some simple steps. Though they look "geeky" they do no harm, and are easy to do. Follow me here:

Disable the Windows Live Setup Service.
To do this:

1. Click “Run…” on the Start menu.
2. Type “cmd” and then click “Open” (this will open a Command Prompt windows).

3. In the Command Prompt window type the following:

• net stop "Windows Live Setup Service"
• ENTER
• sc config "WLSetupSvc" start= disabled
• ENTER

4. Close the Command Prompt window and any other applications in use.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Start Writer and use it as you would normally.

Windows CE Rootkits - Beware

Here we go again - another Microsoft Windows vulnerability. Windows users, be it Mobile or the PC are to live with the vulnerabilities after all. Symantec recently released the news about the raise in the Windows Mobile and Windows CE platforms.

Be it the regular Keylogger or the advanced trojan type hooking, these are available on the free out on the internet (we would not show where) and this is a trouble for the mobile users. The problem with a mobile is greater than that of the PC as the mobile is much more a personal device than the Windows Box.
