HowTo Use Google Search The Right Way?

I guess i need to have a tutorial done to teach you fellows how to search. OK, before that some screen shots to show what results are returned for a Google Image Search.

Search term: "Google logo"
Search term2: "Google logo" - official

[Experiment with removing the quotes.]
Google Logo
Search is not a complicated job, but it needs a little experience to understand how a search engines behave. More over, search only returns what is cached, means what is stored in it's database previously on certain conditions.

Each search engine has it's own logic to cache data, hence understanding them is necessary. Google is the most used, and popular search engine in the world. So there is much, talked about, and argued about Google. One such argument results in this post!

Amit, of "Digital Inspiration" claims Google is not capable of returning apt results for the search term [[ Google official logo]].

As an American saying goes "If the only TOOL you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.", look at your tool in it's right facet. Google gives tips on how to use it's search engine the right way, so better refer to this before you enter your next search term.

In the first respect, why do you want to search? to achieve your goal of finding a right result. Your aim should be in finding the right result with the tool you have at hand, and that is Google search engine, or any engine (Yahoo or Altavista or AOL) read their help pages to help you find the pertaining result.

Double Quotes (") confine the complete term, "Google logo" searches for both the words, whereas [Google Logo] without quotes would search for either Google, or logo, or both. Does that differ from what you are looking for? Rather than expecting the tool to be super intelligent, it is fair to use the tool for what it is purport to be. Think of the saying once again, you would agree.

I would request and encourage YOU as my esteemed reader, to go ahead - read and understand how to use each tool in the proper way!; than be mislead by many others! Here are the material to read before you did your next search:

  1. Google Help [for a better search experience]
  2. Yahoo Help [to understand what the manual says]
  3. AOL Help [this is for the Novice user and the advanced user too]
  4. Windows Live Search Help [ get some real Help!]

Novice or Advanced user, who ever you may be, I request you to read the manual before you use a tool! Be it a new gadget you bought or a search engine! "Read The Manual"

Cheers! Happy Hunting!
