How To Preview Movies Without Downloading All Parts Of A Zip or Rar File?
The Trick: Many reader have sent me a mail to know this.It is relatively a simple trick if you know how most windows applications work. Many people post movies (either legal or illegal) on their sites, or forums, where they split the movie file (usually a DAT or MPEG) file with the help of a technique called "SPANNING". While they do so, the end user is forced to download all the parts to view even a sample of the print.
Download at least 1 part of the multiple parts and do the following.
The simplest method is to understand that WINRAR has an option to "keep broken files" which is unchecked by default, CHECK this option and try to UNRAR as usual. The broken part would be extracted to the desired folder.
The downloaded part of the file may either be playable by your default media player or might show an error. In such case, you can rely on a versatile player called VLC Player. This is a free Media Player that can play almost every known type of Video File to Mankind! [read about VLCPlayer here..]
Other hardcore method is to hunt for the broken file while WINRAR/WinZip extracts them, in the respective "temp" directory/folder. To know your "temp" directory see your options/properties setting page of your respective application.
Once you get to know the temp dir, you can see the partly extracted file there, and you can copy it to a different location before the "extract operation" completes.
